Seattle Cinerama Theater - 1. Photos & 5. 10 Reviews - Cinema - 2. Ave, Belltown, Seattle, WA - Phone Number. Best place to see a movie in WA. I know I know that's a pretty bold statement. But this is THE spot to see any blockbuster movie. After watching several new movies here I'm definitely a fan of this place. First off, assigned seating, so nice to not have to worry about getting early for a prime spot. The seats lean back but don't recline like other places, but even still they are pretty comfy and roomy. Second is the screen and sound. They nailed it here, the screen is huge but easy to watch, it's not too big where it ruins the experience. The sound is crazy here, they really have the surround sound game on lock. Makes any movie a trip to see because you pick up sounds that you may normally miss. Third is the food, the choco mixed popcorn is so good here, you can smell it when walking by. I also really dig their butter only popcorn too, it's super buttery and delicious! They have other items but I haven't tried any yet. Lastly I'd say location, there's a good selection of places to pre- game around there and a lot of Tom Douglas places close by. Parking is street only but I've never had a hard time finding a place. FABU! We really enjoyed our time here. To be honest, I was here 3- 4 years ago but I barely remember it. Cinerama must have improved a lot since then because I can't forget it now! Pros and cons below! Best Picture : TOM JONES (1963, UK) America. 509 reviews of Seattle Cinerama Theater 'Best place to see a movie in WA.I know I know that's a pretty bold statement. But this is THE spot to see any blockbuster movie. The Best of Cinerama was Merian C. Cooper’s last film work. We located the 7-channel sound of this title in Australia last year and also found a detailed continuity. PROS: + Only 1 showing and 1 screen at a time. I'm not sure how they choose their movies but it seems to be based on overall reviews + indie vibe + local interests. This may seem like a con to some people, I know. But to me, this limits how crowded the theater gets and I like that the theater is more selective and intentional about the movies they show. You won't find too much . I consider this a feature not a flaw!+ Online reservations for tickets AND your seats! Love that we can choose seats ahead of time!. Don't have to awkwardly point and ask people ! AND BEST OF ALL THE CHOCOLATE POPCORN! I know there are some folks who aren't a fan but I sure am! And besides, you can still get regular ol' popcorn. The butt part doesn't fold up so it's a . Cushy, big, LOTS of leg room. So huuuge even Donald Trump would be jelly. There is much more care in this one theater than all the AMCs/Cineplex/Regal theaters. When the theater was in financial trouble, Paul Allen came to the rescue! Search for 'Best of Cinerama' on Amazon.com. Title: Best of Cinerama (1963) 8.6 /10. Want to share IMDb's rating on your own site? Great to know someone cares about preserving the place! CONS: - Tickets are bit more than other theaters - $1. We got really lucky with parking but I can definitely see this being a problem on busy days. Street parking is limited and lots are about $5+/hour or so. All in all - I'll be back for sure!! What a fun movie- going experience!
I finally got the chance to come here this past weekend after buying tickets a couple weeks in advance. I love that when you buy tickets you also pick your seat in the theater - it's nice not having to rush to the theater night- of to find the best seat. Their snacks here are amazing, too! It's all super local stuff, and they serve beer & cider as well (though be warned, it's pricey and pretty small). I was excited to try their famous chocolate popcorn after hearing so much about it from friends, but have to say, I wasn't as into it as I expected (though my boyfriend loved it!). Regardless, they have tons of treats to pick from that are really unique from standard movie fare. The theater is huge, seats are large & very comfy (and recline), and the experience is one of a kind. Looking forward to my next time at Cinerama! Seattle Cinerama serves chocolate popcorn. It's basically chocolate dusted kettle corn and it's just as delicious as you'd imagine it to be. Perfectly crisp and sweet with a subtle, but prominent chocolate flavor. If the chocolate popcorn isn't enough to get you in the door, the theatre itself is gorgeous with balcony seating and a ceiling that imitates a starry night sky. The theatre offers pre- paid tickets with assigned seating, which is a must for popular movies! The lobby also has old movie memorabilia behind glass cases that are fun to look at if you arrive early. Tickets are a couple dollars more than other major theatre chains, but concession stand prices are on par. They also offer a few beers and cider on tap! They only offer one movie at a time and have one theatre, but it's giant and seats almost 6. I would normally never go to a movie theatre when I'm on vacation, but Seattle Cinerama is a unique enough spot that warrants a visit from even out- of- towners. I even brought some chocolate popcorn back home to SF! Now if I could only bring the theatre back home with me.. Really cool theatre! It's a fun experience to see a movie in this theatre - it's like you're at a real life show. I sat in the front- ish area and I did not feel restrained at all. The seats do recline if you are needing some adjustment. Would definitely come back here again! Another plus, the entire concession stand smells like you're inside a chocolate chip cookie (because of the chocolate popcorn, which I unfortunately did not get), which is a definitely unique thing to say about a theatre. LOVE THAT CHOCOLATE BUTTERY POPCORN. Beautifully restored old school single screen movie theater. Best screen in Seattle and made for epic movies. Great snack bar.. Cocoa Puffs) and regular popcorn mix. One star off for high ticket price. Chocolate popcorn tastes like the love child of kettle corn and coco puffs. It's soooo good and addicting. It's so good that I almost didn't mind the girl chewing so loudly next to me. I reached for my bag of chocolate popcorn mid movie and proceeded to have a competition on who could chew the loudest while watching batman vs. I got tired and just sat very upright for most of the movie. The seats are also leather which can make some people very warm, fyi. Other than that, the place is very clean and new. Also, another perk is that you can pick your seats when you buy tickets in advance. This saves you the burden of waiting in line an hour before a popular show and having to fight for good seats. Overall, i would recommend this place, and the chocolate popcorn. That's when I found Cinerama. I ordered our tickets online where I was also able to pre- select our seats. We arrived to the theater maybe 3. Drool). Cinerama only shows one movie at a time. There is one HUGE theater with main level and balcony level seating. I was scared that since I had chosen seats in the second to last row on the main level that the view wouldn't be good; but it still turned out to be a great view. My family shared a large mixed popcorn ($8). I would definitely recommend Finding Dory and Cinerama! As everyone has already stated- buy the freaking chocolate popcorn already, K?! It. And, I hate using the word delish, so that tells you how delish it was. The sizes are pretty big, so I'll get a small next time. The pricing for Entry ($1. Sunday afternoon) is not bad, for how large the screen is and how clean everything is. Medium popcorns & a bottled water was $1. The chairs are either your friend or your enemy- the reclining feature is a bit . It did get a bit warmin the theater, but not too bad. I'll be coming back again. I enjoy the seat reservation system and large screen. Everyone was very friendly as well. Oh. And the beer- they have beer on draft! How awesome is that!? The only place to see a movie in Seattle as far as I'm concerned! Beautiful theater, chocolate popcorn is crazy good and they serve Beer, Cider and wine as well as hot pretzels TD Bravehorse style. Cocoa- dusted popcorn. Audio quality = best in class. Luxury seating. That is all. I bow to you, oh Cinerama. You have schooled me on how amazing a modern day theater can be with your laser projection and delicious Atmos Dolby sound. They can play 7. 0mm film. All the face- melts. Speaking of face- melts, when you walk in the front door, a you're immediately nose deep in what smells like the world's largest, warm, chocolate cookie. It's that life- changing chocolate popcorn. That popcorn was amazing and I will now get it every time I go there. I have tried some of the other snacks, like the pretzel and the cheese puffs. The pretzel was so good, but it really needed some cheese dip. And the cheese puffs were also tasty, however, we took them home to try them because we were too full. Some other things I love about the theater..- I'm weird, but I like that one movie plays there at a time. Most recently they were filled with real costumes from original trilogy Star Wars films. I died and went to heaven.- They play the audio of the movie in the restrooms so you don't miss anything- I can easily walk here, so parking doesn't matter. But I'm not a huge fan of seats that only recline when you push your weight against them. I wish they were more like the recliners at the renovated AMC Theaters. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place before! Gonna just give it title of best movie theater in Seattle and call it good. I love that they let you buy tickets in advance so you can choose your seat and you don't have to wait in line before the movie. It's great for the really crowded movies. It's a bit pricier at $1. I wouldn't come here every week but it's great for splurging or for major movies with crowds. The seats are also insanely comfy and you don't have to hobble over a ton of people to go to the bathroom. So I judge bathroom location in theaters a lot. If you're on the top level, the bathroom can be a bit of a hike BUT they play the audio in the bathroom so at least you're only half missing the movie! As everyone mentioned, chocolate popcorn! Get the mixed kind because otherwise it's sugar overload. There's also alcoholic beverages and other goodies here. I usually go for a hard cider and sharing the mixed popcorn. Oh man.. now I'm craving some of that popcorn as I type..! Thanks for such a wonderful theatre and concessions.
